CPD after the Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement
CPD is a term also highly used in the Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (CAVA) and it something that you need to do and maintain throughout. Its like a CV but its an overview of which activities you have completed to keep up to date to ensure that your assessment practice and your subject specialism is still relevant. The last thing you need to be doing is assessing outdated materials, so you need to stay current.
Before completing your CPD records, you need to check the qualification specifications of the qualifications you are assessing to ensure that you are meeting the minimum requirements for the qualifications. Some sectors like security make it clear you must complete 40 hours of CPD in your field each year, so you need to make it clear that you’ve done 40 hours and not one week.
Very few people do this, and I have been guilty myself is that we update our CPD records annually. Don’t fall into this trap, update your CPD and your CV regularly.
