This is the only route to get your teacher training up to a degree level without spending the time and expense at a University. It is perfect for those already teaching wanting to maximise their teaching qualification without giving up employment and without having to study full time at a University. Following completion of the Level 6 Diploma in Teaching and Learning, you can apply for direct entry into an MA in teaching.

Feedback will be provided, should your assignment not reach the minimum standards to pass the qualification. You may use this feedback to assist in your resubmission. Although there are no limits to the number of resubmissions, most pass on their second submission.

The Level 6 Diploma in Teaching and Learning is regulated by Ofqual meaning it is recognised nationally and internationally and is accepted by all training providers, colleges and Universities.

What are the pre-requisites?

You must hold the Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training (you can enrol onto this course with the Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training)
You must be at least 19 years old
You must possess good reading & writing skills in English at Level 2
You must possess knowledge of the subject you wish to teach/deliver
You must be self-motivated

How does the Level 6 Diploma in Teaching and Learning integrate with the Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training?

Our Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training and Level 6 Diploma in Teaching and Learning have been developed holistically with multiple elements of our Level 5 Diploma integrated within our Level 6 meaning that there is substantial overlap between assignments.

How does the Level 6 Diploma in Education and Training compare to a UK Bachelors degree?

The Level 6 Diploma in Education and Training is the equivalent difficulty and credits of the third year of any UK Bachelors degree.

Accompanied with our Level 4 Diploma in Education and Training Management (120 credits) and Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training (120 credits), you will receive the same level of education as a full UK Bachelors degree which qualifies you to successfully register as a teaching professional with the Society for Education and Training (SET), apply for QTLS and to work as teacher in any college, university or training provider.

How are the teaching hours observed?

There are no observed teaching hours. Your assignments are portfolio based on your teaching practice.

How long do I have to complete the qualification?

You have up to 2 years to complete the qualification. Once this expires, we may charge a minor fee to reregister you on the qualification.

All candidates will be offered a course induction session, with ongoing access to an assigned tutor who can be contacted by phone, email, or within study groups.
