Are you looking for an inclusive and practical teaching qualification? Do you want to have your current teaching skills and practice accredited, or can you meet the minimum requirement of 100 hours’ teaching practice? If this is the case, then our Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training (CET) is perfect for you.
Level 3 Award in Education and Training (AET) is not a requirement for enrollment onto the Level 5 Diploma, but we do require our learners to have excellent literacy, numeracy and ICT skills as the course is equivalent to a first year undergraduate degree.
You must be at least 19 years old, with knowledge, interest and ideally a little experience of the subject in which you wish to teach or deliver training.
The final prerequisite for this course is the completion of 100 hours’ paid or voluntary classroom teaching. Out of this, 8 hours must be assessed by us, which can be done via a video recording, a Zoom meeting, or an authorised observer in the classroom with you, on our behalf.
Learners can choose to complete the course via one of the following options:
Classroom training over 15 days (with homework to be completed at your own pace)
Virtual learning over 15 days (with homework to be completed at your own pace)
Self-Study of approximately 360 hours, again, at your own pace.
Depending on your existing knowledge, experience, and other commitments, you could condense the self-study into weeks or months, to suit your circumstances.
Successfully completing the Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training entitles you to teach adults in FE Colleges and/or begin your career as in Independent Training Provider in your chosen field. It is perfect for those working in a learning and development role, coaching or mentoring. Following completion of the Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training, you can apply for QTLS which is the equivalent of QTS in schools without having to study full time at a University.
